A very nice "Revised U.S. Army Regulations - 1861" book identified to Richard Neville Bowerman. The book is signed in the inside front cover by Bowerman - "Commanding Officer 4th Regiment Maryland Vols." Bowerman eventually became a Brigadier General and was wounded twice during the Civil War. A brief history is included. Bowerman rose through the ranks from 1861 to 1865, all promotions occured during the Civil War. An excellent identified Army regulations book by an officer that served full term.
An excellent condition book of the history of the The First Brigade, New Jersey Volunteers under Major-General Phillip Kearney. Book was published by the State of New Jersey in 1910 and has held up in marvelous condition. Written inside of front cover is "Property of Joseph B. Hodgkins Boonton - New Jersey - A Gift from the State." All pages are present along with photograph of New Jersey officers and notables. A must for the Civil War New Jersey collector.
